Encouraging news for the Philadelphia 76ers regarding the injury to Tyrese Maxey. Medical tests have ruled out a fracture in his right pinky finger, as confirmed by head coach Nick Nurse before the 115-101 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Maxey was injured in the final seconds of the 126-116 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. With 16 seconds remaining, the guard collided with teammate Adem Bona, immediately grabbing his right hand before heading to the locker room.
No fracture. Now he’ll need to consult with specialists to understand what the next step will be
Nick Nurse
The injury involves the same finger that Maxey had previously sprained last season, a detail that, according to the coaching staff, increases the level of caution in managing his recovery.
Despite the injury, the player’s mood remains positive:
He seems to be doing well and his morale is good. He wants to come back as soon as possible, but we need to wait for the specialists’ opinion before taking the next step

The injury to the Kentucky product, even if less serious than initially feared, comes at a time when the team needs stability the most: the Philadelphia 76ers have slipped to eighth place in the Eastern Conference and, for now, sit outside the automatic playoff spots. It’s not time to panic yet, but the margin for error is shrinking.
