Stephen Curry will be out for a week due to the quadriceps injury he suffered during the NBA Cup loss to the Houston Rockets.
The MRI could have revealed something more serious, but the four-time NBA Champion will still be re-evaluated in a week – and even then, there’s no guarantee he’ll be ready to return to the floor.
It changes everything. Our rotations, the way we play… so we’ll see. When I heard it was the quad, I was actually relieved – better than an ankle or a knee. Hopefully he can bounce back quickly and be fine. But we’ve got to hold it together.

Curry collided with Alperen Sengun in the fourth quarter of the game against Houston. He stayed on the court, but the effects of the injury caught up with him with 35.2 seconds left, when he exited alongside Warriors Director of Sports Medicine and Performance, Rick Celebrini.
With their third loss in the NBA Cup, the Warriors have been eliminated from the competition, and in the regular season they now sit eighth in the Western Conference (10-10). Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler harshly criticized the team’s attitude following the defeat to the Rockets.
Golden State will be back on the floor Saturday night (2:30 AM CET) against the Pelicans, the first of two straight home games before facing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
