Another historic milestone for LeBron James. After becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, the Los Angeles Lakers star adds yet another record to his collection: the most made field goals in league history.
The record came in the 120-113 loss against the Denver Nuggets, when James officially passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s all-time field goals list.
The Shot That Made History
With 12.3 seconds remaining in the first quarter, James knocked down a turnaround baseline jumper over Zeke Nnaji.
That basket was the 15,838th field goal of his career, enough to move past Abdul-Jabbar and become the new NBA leader in this special category.
Another Record After the Points Title
This isn’t the first time James has surpassed Abdul-Jabbar on an all-time list. On February 7, 2023, he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, overtaking the legendary Lakers center.
Since then, his career point total has continued to rise, climbing past the 43,000 mark.
Other Milestones Reached This Season
Even this season, James has already achieved several other important milestones with the Lakers. Among them:
- Passing Michael Cooper for fifth place on the Lakers’ all-time assists list
- Joining Kobe Bryant as the only players in franchise history with at least 1,000 made three-pointers
The Next Record in Sight
The next milestone is about longevity. James is closing in on the NBA record for games played, currently held by Robert Parish with 1,611 appearances.
He currently sits second with 1,606 games played and could tie or break the record on March 16 against the Houston Rockets, if he appears in all upcoming games.
