Sometimes Luka Doncic really makes everything look easy, and tonight was one of those nights. He forces the three-point shot (2/10) but ends up with 43 points, shooting 17/27 from the field, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists in the 119-109 loss to the Warriors.

However, it’s not easy for him or the Lakers. While the roster has been mostly revamped, JJ Redick’s team hasn’t lost a particular habit: the poor third-quarter approach, which results in 35 points conceded. Kuminga goes 4/4 from beyond the arc, Butler attacks the paint without resistance, and ultimately finishes with 16/16 from the free-throw line – out of 31 total points.

The Lakers’ attempt to bounce back, getting within six points midway through the final period, is not enough as Curry seals the game with an 11-meter three-pointer.

Coach JJ Redick also criticized the team’s attitude in the post-game press conference.

Aside from Luka Doncic, the Lakers need more without LeBron James (out due to a back injury) to make an impact. The only other players in double figures for the Lakers are Austin Reaves with 26 points and Deandre Ayton with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Doncic & Co. will return to the court for their second game of the season in the Italian night between Friday and Saturday, ready to host the Minnesota Timberwolves led by Anthony Edwards.
